WHY ARE WE KING JAMES ONLY?

“Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him.” - PROVERBS 30:5

The Lincoln Baptist Church is unapologetically a church that believes in using the King James Bible, and the King James Bible only. We do not use other versions of the Bible, nor literature containing other versions of the Bible.

As a Pastor, I want the Word of God that I preach and teach to have the effect that we see in the verses we read. When I read the Bible, I need it to have the power ascribed to it in the verse above. When you read the Bible you also need to be able to see this power. I believe that the Word of God refers to only one Bible in our modern English language, the King James Bible.

There are three major areas of deceptive errors baked into these false translations of the Bible…

  • ERROR OF INACCURACY

    • New age Bibles are written very sloppily. The language is not as graceful, and the accuracy lacks in places. We find a blatant example of this.

      • “And there was again a battle in Gob with the Philistines, where Elhanan the son of Jaareoregim, a Bethlehemite, slew the brother of Goliath the Gittite, the staff of whose spear was like a weaver's beam.” (II Samuel 21:19) KJV

      • “There was war with the Philistines again at Gob, and Elhanan the son of Jaare-oregim the Bethlehemite killed Goliath the Gittite, the shaft of whose spear was like a weaver’s beam.” NEW AMERICAN STANDARD

  • THE ERRORS OF OMISSION

    • New age versions have tried to take alot of things out of your Bible…

      • The New International Version has 64000 words less than the King James Bible.

      • The New King James Version has 2289 words less than the King James Bible.

      • The New International Version removed the word “Hell” 39 times.

      • The NIV removed the word “Christ” 25 times, the word “Lord” 352 times, “God” is removed 468 times, the word “devils” was removed 80 times, “Heaven” 160 times, and “Salvation” 42 times.

      • The New King James Version has removed the word “devils” 81 times, “Heaven” 50 times.

      • The New American Standard removes the word “Lord” 438 times, and the word “God” 87 times. The word “Heaven” is removed 127 times, and the word “devils” 82 times. The term “Lord Jesus Christ” was removed 21 times.

    • Sadly, this is not just due to editorial corrections, but they have been removed from very strategic places that change the whole meaning of the passage rather than just changing the word. SEE AN EXAMPLE BELOW…

      • “For the Son of man is come to save that which was lost.” (Matthew 18:11 KJV)

      • THIS VERSE HAS BEEN REMOVED COMPLETELY FROM THE RSV as well as many other new age versions. It is a subtle removal of the reason Christ came.

  • THE ERRORS OF PRECISION

    • There are times when the errors made by new age Bibles is not as blatant as what we just saw. However, they lack the precision of the Scriptures and again subtly attack what Scripture truly says.

      • “And Joseph and his mother marvelled at those things which were spoken of him.” (Luke 2:33 KJV)

      • “The child’s father and mother marveled at what was said about him.” (Luke 2:33 NIV)

    • Though this may seem like a small error of not being quite as precise as it should be it is truly an attack on the deity of Christ.

  • THE ERRORS OF BLASPHAMY

    • The Scriptures are clear in identifying who Jesus is and who Satan is. Yet, the false Bibles blur this line. The Scriptures clearly indicate that Jesus is the Morning Star.

      • “I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.” (REVELATION 22:6)

    • The Scriptures are also clear that Lucifer was kicked out of Heaven.

      • How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning! how art thou cut down to the ground, which didst weaken the nations!” (Isaiah 14:12)

  • However, the New International Version tells us something very different in regards to who it was that fell from Heaven

    • “How you have fallen from heaven, morning star, son of the dawn! You have been cast down to the earth, you who once laid low the nations!” New International Version

The reasons listed above are not exhaustive of all the faults and errors found in false versions of the Bible, but they are enough to present as to why we believe in only one Bible for the English-Speaking people. The old King James Bible.
